PEW Science Ranks The ION LT A Top 10 Suppressor
Pew Science recently reviewed our ION LT suppressor sku-ranking the suppressor in the top 10 of the industry out of almost 50 submissions on the 5.56 platform, all while being a multi-caliber suppressor!
A link to Pew Science’s Youtube page covering the article in more depth is provide below, while a link to the article itself is provided below the Youtube link.
We would encourage you to review PEW’s findings directly, but will provide a quick summary of the article below:
-“The ION LT moves into the top 10 shooter’s ear hazard reduction Rankings“
-“(ION LT)…produces relatively remarkable post-FRP (first round pop) combustion propagation consistency for its hybrid design, especially for the operator, considering it is a 30 caliber silencer.”
-“It is likely that the durability of the ION LT is higher than typical titanium silencers on the 5.56 NATO weapons.”
-“Utilizing both Inconel and titanium alloys, the ION LT provides significant durability in a lighter weight envelope than silencers of similar size.”
-“The backpressure reduction with the ION LT is significant; it reduces the propensity for blowback on semiautomatic weapons and reduces the severity of ejection port blast to the weapon operator, thus increasing operator level of protection, reducing hazard.”
-“The ION LT significantly outperforms the Surefire silencer on this platform”
-“All Polonium series silencers are outperformed by the ION LT on the standard MK18 in operator hazard reduction due to their (Otter Creek Labs) high backpressure. The higher early-time flow rate of the LMT system allows for significantly less ejection port blast propagation.”
Don’t just take our word for it, trust but verify by checking out the PEW article for yourself through the Youtube link or link through the button above.
Great to partner with PEW Science and promote their much-needed service to the suppressor space. Not everyone uses the same US military/NATO test standards that we do and their platform helps give a true ‘apples to apples’ comparison.
